Solution Architect

Experienced. Trusted. Connected.

Meet Brendan Hartmann

Brendan is a solution architect with more than 25 years' experience across solution, domain, transformation, business, and enterprise architecture, with extensive hands-on experience throughout the entire software development lifecycle and a recent focus on whole-of-enterprise transformation, systems design, and data architecture. He brings a delivery-focused mindset and understands that successful project outcomes require balancing business requirements, stakeholder engagement, financial realities and technical knowledge.

Brendan is a firm believer in continuous improvement and enjoys leadership and mentoring roles. He believes organisations that embrace diversity and inclusion are stronger and more effective, and he strives to uphold values of fairness, respect and tolerance in every team he works with.

Previously engaged with the Australian Sports Commission, Brendan works as an Enterprise, Domain, Business and Solutions Architect, aligning designs to enterprise architecture plans and serving on the Architectural Review Forum, where he provides assurance and reviews solution architectures submitted by other architects. His recent work includes designing a serverless Azure website redevelopment, architecting a whole-of-enterprise integration platform, transforming the campus booking experience, and identifying a fit-for-purpose search platform using Snowflake and Cortex for AI-enabled search and agents.

One of Brendan's proudest achievements was leading the Australian Sports Commission's campus booking transformation. He guided the initiative from strategy through delivery, facilitating stakeholder engagement, defining future-state business and technology requirements, developing the business case, and leading technical delivery including vendor engagement. The outcome was a modernised booking experience that significantly improved how the ASC engages with sporting clubs, athletes, and teams accessing its facilities.

Throughout his career, Brendan has delivered enterprise architecture, governance, and cloud migration work across government departments, including the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, as well as private-sector organisations such as Xero, NTT, and Oakton. His technical strengths span Azure, Dynamics 365, Apache Kafka and NiFi, and identity management frameworks, as well as strong stakeholder engagement and requirements analysis skills.

Brendan is known for translating complex technical and business challenges into clear, actionable architecture that delivers lasting value for the organisations he supports.
